Our 2025 Getaway Knit Blanket Club is a 12-month-long adventure designed to inspire and connect makers!

Kit 1

Stripe 2 - Side Edge

We received some feedback that the instructions as written had a few members stumped. I’ve put together a longer written out version of the Side Edge instructions that may help! ~Aimée

Side Edge

Rotate piece sideways with RS facing to work along left side of piece (after rotating, the left side of the piece will be on top and where we pick up stitches, and the right side of the pice will be on the bottom).

Place 5 markers along this edge so they are spaced out with 4” between them. I would start at one of the ends, measure out 4”, and place the first marker. Then, measure 4” from that marker until you have 4” left on the opposite end. We need to do this to ensure that we are pick up the correct number of stitches in each 4” space.

Row 1 (RS):
Pick up and knit 17 sts evenly in the first 4” section to the first marker, [pick up and knit 18 sts evenly to next marker] four times, pick up and knit 18 sts to end of row. (108 sts) Put sts on a strand of scrap yarn or onto a stitch holder. ♥

Kit 3

Pattern Booklet

If you received Kit 3 back in March 2025, you might’ve noticed your booklet decided to take the scenic route. While it was making its grand entrance, we sent a one-page pattern preview to tide you over until the real star arrived in April 2025.

Still waiting on your Kit 3 booklet? No worries! Our friendly customer service team has your back—just shoot us a message at support@jimmybeanswool.mom and we’ll get it sorted faster than you can say “yarn chicken.”

Stripe 5

We had some members mention that their stitches look too stretched between the 3/3 LRC on Row 9. No need to worry! Several members have mentioned that this stretched out look closes up nicely when you begin working the next stripe.

Block 4

This question has been asked by many members: “Working on block 4 of the knitted blanket. Noticed that rows 6 & 8 do not have instructions. Looking at the pattern I am repeating row 2 here.”

Aimée’s answer:
Yes! We repeat Row 2 for WS rows. Row 4 is noted because it’s part of a repeat and we included it after Row 3. It’s not needed between 5, 7, and 9 because we’ve been told to repeat row 2 for all WS rows.

Block 5

Just a quick note! The picture of Block 5 in the Kit 3 pattern booklet was positioned upside down. Please rotate booklet to view the block right side up (we do not recommend standing on your head to view it). The point of the slipped stitches that create those rows of V’s should be pointing down.

Block 6 Photo in Pattern Booklet

Oops! Some pre-final photos snuck into Kit 4 Block 6, showing a border that was removed before the pattern was finalized. Don’t worry—the pattern is correct, and your printed booklet has the right instructions. We’ve updated the pictures in the digital version to match. Thanks for rolling with this tiny detour on your Getaway!

Transition from Stripe 5 to Stripe 6

We had a member ask this question: “Stripe 5 ended with stitching on the RS. Stripe 6 starts with a RS row as well. Am I missing something here?”

Aimée answered with this:

Stripe 5 ends with a purl row on RS.

Stripe 6 starts with a knit row on RS.

Kit 5

Stripe 8

One minor “oops” this month! Pattern gremlins took over and added a few extra rows to Stripe 8. If you knit as is in the booklet, your stripe will be a tad too tall. Just stop when you get to Row 20 and then work the last 2 rows of reverse stockinette!

Rows 9-16: Rep Rows 1-8.

Rows 17-20: Rep Rows 1-4.

Row 21 (RS): K1, purl across to last st, k1.

Row 22 (WS): Knit.

Cut yarn.

Stripe measures approx. 3”. ♥

Stripe 10

Optional Design Element: Slip Rows 5 and 11 with yarn in front for a different look!

Aimée’s Note: Slipping with the yarn in front on Rows 5 and 11 will show the dashes between the dots. Slipping with the yarn in back will just show the dots on the right side. You get to choose which look is best for you! Some of our samples are made with the stitches slipped in front and some have them slipped in the back, so we decided to leave this design element up to you.
